PDF viewer and editor

Open PDF documents, manage pages, add annotations and edits.

OCR — text recognition

Extract text from scans and images in Uzbek, Karakalpak (Latin and Cyrillic), Russian, English and Kazakh.

Convert

Convert documents between PDF, image and text formats.

Translate

Translate documents and text with the FromTo translation service.

PDF and conversion work offline; OCR works offline after each language model is downloaded once.

Translation requires an internet connection.

System requirements

  • Windows— Windows 10 / 11, x64
  • macOS— macOS 15+, Apple Silicon
  • Linux— x64, glibc; needs the system Tesseract library (e.g. sudo apt install libtesseract5)

First launch

  • Windows — Run the installer. The app is not code-signed yet — if SmartScreen appears, click “More info” → “Run anyway”.
  • macOS — Open the DMG and drag FromTo to Applications. The app is not notarized by Apple yet: after the first launch attempt, open System Settings → Privacy & Security → “Open Anyway”.
  • Linux — Use the install script or extract the archive, then run fromto-desktop.
